GAIT strives to meet the needs of all students that can benefit from the life-changing power of equine interaction. As we work to meet the needs of our community, our requirement for specialized equipment grows. We humbly ask you to consider donating to allow us to purchase the necessary equipment to keep our program moving forward.
This new year, we hope you keep GAIT in mind. Below you will see a list of items that we are in desperate need of to continue to meet the needs of our community and provide the highest comfort possible for our horses. Your contribution will go towards our equipment fund that allows us to purchase these items.
Halters- $25
All of our horses keep their halters on during lessons to allow our leaders and side walkers to have a gentle means of controlling the horses during lessons.
Helmets- $50
Every rider at GAIT is required to wear a ASTM/SEI certified helmet rated to be safe for horseback riding. With students of all ages and sanitary practices at the forefront of our minds, helmets are in high demand.
Buckaroo stirrups- $75
With a range of students of all ages visiting GAIT, buckaroo stirrups are a perfect option to give them the use of stirrups while still providing comfort to our horses with properly fitting saddles.
leather goods- $100
Our horses are selected with care with temperament being the top priority. This means that horses of all shapes and sizes join our herd. A donation to leather goods allows us to purchase cinches, breast collars, and headstalls to meet their needs.
Surcingles & saddle pads- $250
One of the greatest benefits to therapeutic riding is our students feeling the movement and rhythm of our horses. Bareback pads allow them to feel the motion while providing comfort and grip. Likewise, the use of a handled Surcingle adds stability to their ride and is a crucial element to their riding.
lightweight saddles - $500
We accept students of all ages and special needs and a large variety of saddles make it possible for everyone to feel safe and comfortable. From toddlers to young adults, GAIT strives to make therapeutic riding an option for everyone and a variety of saddles makes that possible.
